The Centre for Community Learning & Development offers an intensive year-long training for newcomer women called the Immigrant Women Integration Program (IWIP). Digital storytelling has been integrated into the IWIP curriculum, creating a way for participants to reflect on their own experiences, and develop meaningful connections to their peers. From social housing redevelopment to food access, surviving factory work to overcoming abuse, the stories in this project reveal the many facets of the settlement process. Through the program, IWIP trainees gain skills to use their digital stories as community-building tools.
